PLUGINS FOR REVIT, NAVISWORKS AND PLANT 3D
We develop a range of plugins to help improve the productivity of our modelling teams and ensure our clients models are validated as best they can be prior to being used in operations.
These are now available from our RevinItUp website. We invite you to take a look and download our free trials.

01. Revit eRDS Manager plugin
The eRDS Manager performs multiple tasks for exporting and importing asset information and room data to and from your model.
The Revit Rooms button exports a file containing all building information including level, zones and rooms together with their GUIDs and key dimensional data. At the same time it creates a 3D FM Placeholders for every room and space inside and outside the building. Non-modelled asset information can be imported as new Revit parameters
The Asset Exporter button allows you to select assets in the model and have them exported to an excel file complete with their GUIDs and room locations. Later on you can import “enriched” information back into the model using the “Import Data” Button.
You can view or edit any of the four sets of room data written to the FM Placeholders using the “View / Modify” function.
02. Revit FM Placeholder plugin
The FM Placeholder plugin creates a 3D floor object for every room and space inside and outside your building model to provide a much improved visual impact.
FM Placeholders are created automatically from room information on the floor plans. External spaces defined using “Room Separators” will also be converted to 3D FMP objects.
Use the “Express” function to quickly create the FMPs for all rooms in default grey, or use the “Custom” function to add colour to different types of room.
03. Revit Asset Code Populator plugin
The Asset Code Populator (ACP) is a management tool for handling thousands of asset codes and supporting information in Revit. It brings organised workflows to help identify the assets and make the codes and batch processes for writing them into the model as Revit parameters. You can use any asset code structure, and separators e.g.:
RVM1.TC.L1.103/D_30_60_10/VDIF274
Site-building-level-room/system/unique asset
04. Revit SectionBox plugin
Revit SectionBox is an easy to use user interface for sectioning your Revit modes by level, grid line and rooms.
It allows you to incrementally move each of the six sectioning planes (Top, Bottom, Front, Back, Left and Right), giving you an immediate visual of your sectioning. And you can easily Duplicate your sectioned view to a new view using the “Duplicate” button.
05. Revit SavedViewpoints plugin
Saved Viewpoints allows you to store multiple viewpoints in a single view and quickly navigate to each one. Viewpoints are organised into folders.
Viewpoints created in a 3D view will be available to all 3D views and viewpoints created in a plan view will be available for all plan views.
Saved Viewpoints makes cropping your view quick and easy with controls to define, activate, deactivate, show and hide the crop window. And if you decide you want a separate Revit view for a particular viewpoint, simply use the “Duplicate View” settings.
06. Revit ViewSets plugin
View Sets allows you to save view configurations for quick retrieval. You specify the layout and which views go where, and you can synchronise views in that set to the active view.
Setting up the views is easy thanks to a visual preview which lets decide on the number of views and save your preferred configurations. You can import and export your view sets so they can be used with other models.
07. Revit Isolator plugin
Isolator gives you total control over how you view your model. You can select specific items in your current or linked model to be isolated by one or many categories, families and/or types.
You can specify the colours for the isolated and non-isolated items and set them to be hidden or transparent. You can also crop your view around room boundaries, and if you decide you want a separate Revit view for a particular viewpoint, simply use the “Duplicate View” settings.
08. Revit MEP Isolator plugin
MEP Isolator allows you to isolate specific MEP items by one or many system classifications, system names, and all mechanical, electrical, and piping items.
You can specify the colours for the MEP isolated and non-isolated items and have them plus the architectural and structural items shown hidden or transparent. Your settings can be applied to either the active view or all open views in the current model, and you can save your settings e.g. “Domestic Cold Water” and quickly retrieve that set in any model.
09. Navisworks 4D SavedViews plugin
Our 4D Saved Views plugin allows you to overcome the limitations of NW Timeliner when it comes to saving views.
The plugin will create a saved view of all or selected tasks on the timeline into a folder. These are native Navisworks views that show the state of construction on a given date / task. The advantage is that other NW features such as mark-up, tagging and document linking to be used.
Various controls allow you to set the view naming conventions and you can elect to have the objects shown in either the Timeliner construction & demolition colours, or have them drawn in the original model colours.
Watch the video to see how this powerful tool can transform your 4D models into a resource that can be used for other purposes such as supporting health and safety.
10. Navisworks SectionBox plugin
SectionBox is an easy to use user interface for sectioning your Navisworks model. You can dynamically move each of the six sectioning planes (Top, Bottom, Front, Back, Left and Right), giving you an immediate visual of your sectioning.
The sectioning planes are native to Navisworks so you can save viewpoints that retain your desired sectioning. You can save the current viewpoint into user defined folders.
If your model contains a grid system, you can section based on Levels and/or Grid lines, and if it was exported from Revit with “convert room geometry” turned on, you can section based on Rooms.
11. Navisworks PropertiesViewer plugin
NW Properties Viewer is a far easier way to view object properties in your Navisworks model by giving you an expandable / collapsible tree view of your property groups.
When right-clicking on a value, you have the option of copying it to the clipboard, or finding, selecting and isolating all objects that match that property value. You can override the model’s current units allowing you to convert lengths and areas to different units, and the “Isolate Selected” button will toggle the current isolation state on and off.
12. Autodesk Plant 3D Welds plugin
Plant 3D Welds automatically creates intelligent welds as 3D objects. Properties are stored as attributes, so they are visible when viewing your model in external viewers such as Navisworks.
You can control the layer and colour of the welds and specify whether a weld tag should be shown as text in the model.
Weld number settings let you describe the format of the weld number and tag and allow you to specify a prefix and/or suffix along with the number precision. Tags can be prefixed with the size and/or suffixed with the line number.
A reporting function is included allowing you to export to excel or Zoom-To a single weld or group of welds.
13. Autodesk Plant 3D Isolate plugin
Plant 3D Isolate is an analytical tool that allows you to isolate different aspects of your model allowing you to visually verify its integrity. You can isolate your model by Line Number, Service, Pipe Spec or Pipe Size.
You can specify the colour to use for your isolated and non-isolated items and set all other non-isolated items to be hidden, made transparent or left to their original display.
